Football Business Awards 2013 take place at Stamford Bridge next month.
Newcastle's controversial sponsorship deal with payday loan lender Wonga.com has been nominated in the Best Sponsorship Award category.
The Magpies have defended the shirt and stadium sponsorship deal which several fans have objected to on moral grounds.
The club's top striker Papiss Cisse was also involved in a row with officials when he refused to wear the Wonga-sponsored jersey for religious reasons.
The Wonga-Newcastle United partnership is competing against Budweiser (The FA Cup), Elite Soccer - Green Star Media (League Managers Association), Prostate Cancer (Millwall Football Club) and Peter's Food Service Ltd (Cardiff Football Club) for the award.
The judging panel includes Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck, West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady and former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson.
What are your thoughts on Wonga's nomination?
