Manchester City have first refusal on reported Newcastle target

Gil Vicente defender Pecks looks set for a move to the Premier League in January.

Earlier this week Here Is The City told you how the Cape Verde defender is reportedly being tracked by Manchester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham.

Pecks has a €10 million (£8m) release clause in his contract and the Portuguese club has made it clear that he won't be allowed to leave for a fee below valuation.

It has now emerged that Manchester City enjoy first refusal on the youngster due to City's collaborative agreement with Gil Vincente signed last year.

According to Portuguese sports newspaper Record, the 20 year-old stopper is believed to be keen on a move to England, despite having signed a new deal at Gil Vincente last season - tying him down until 2017.

What do you think about Pecks' £8m valuation? Is it fair for an unproven 20-year-old?

Check out a video of Pecks in action, along with five facts about the Cape Verde international.
