Only Sir Matt Busby has made a better start at United than David Moyes

David Moyes is second to only Sir Matt Busby in terms of winning percentage after eight games at Manchester United.

Moyes has endured a difficult start to his career at Manchester United with league defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City which prompted the start of the #MoyesOut Twitter campaign.

However, in terms of managers who have been in charge of the side since 1946, only Sir Matt Busby has a better win rate after eight games.

It’s very clear that Manchester United will be challenged this season on all fronts with Manchester City looking impressive in the league and considering Moyes’ inexperience in Europe.

The man himself has talked about a period of transition as he gets to know his players, signs more stars for the first team and generally settles into the post-Ferguson era.

Here are the five bosses with the best win rate at the club after eight games.

1) Sir Matt Busby (75%)

2) David Moyes (63%)

3) Frank O’Farrell (63%)

4) Sir Alex Ferguson (38%)

5) Ron Atkinson (38%)
