After scoring yet another set-piece goal in yesterday’s 5-0 victory over Wigan Athletic, Yaya Toure has received the praise of his manager Manuel Pellegrini for his continued hard work in training.
“We are always practising,” he said. “Yaya stays normally, kicking the ball after we finish the daily work.
“He is really in a good moment. Also it is not normal for someone always (to be) scoring free-kicks.”
Given that the Ivorian also dominated Manchester United in Sunday’s derby, he may now be rightly classed as the most complete midfielder in the Premier League.
Having now recovered from the groin injury that has kept him out for the last four weeks, he may have a fight on his hands to get back into a team that has now found its stride without him.
