Valencia’s Adil Rami has admitted his relationship with manager Miroslav Djukic is in tatters.
Rami finds himself complete out in the cold at the La Liga outfit after a breakdown in communication and working relationship with the club’s Serbian manager.
The defender has been dropped for Valencia’s La Liga match against Granada this evening, after accusing his teammates of showing him disrespect and his manager of poorly running the side.
“I do not speak with Djukic - My relationship with him is not good. He does not speak to your face. To me, he said I could be one of the best centre-backs in Europe and he has not shown it,” Rami told Cadena SER.
Arsenal could re-visit their interest in the Frenchman, who would be an attractive proposition, providing support to Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Thomas Vermaelen in the current squad.
That would reduce the need for Arsene Wenger to play defenders out of position such as Bacary Sagna who has filled in at centre back at times this season.
Manchester City could draft Rami in as a defensive reinforcement but their signing of Martin Demichelis makes that unlikely, regardless of the injury to the Argentinean defender.
Djukic is still in the early period of his career in charge of Valencia, having only joined them last summer, and with Rami’s current deal at the club due to expire in the summer of 2015, the Spanish side may be more than willing to do a deal for him as soon as possible.
Do you think Arsenal should make a move for him?
