The French midfielder has enjoyed a blistering start to the season, having scored twice and provided a number of assists for his teammates.
In an exclusive interview with French broadcaster Canal+, Ben Arfa has revealed that he rejected several "enquiries" in the summer to remain at Newcastle and repay the club's faith in him.
The 26-year-old added that he is 100% committed to the Toon, and needs to prove himself on Tyneside before thinking of a "bigger" club.
Ben Arfa said: "There were enquiries this summer but what was important was to remain at Newcastle.
"The club has confidence in me, I need to gain a lot of experience. Here, there is everything you need. Before thinking of anything bigger, I need to commit 100%.here."
Ben Arfa has a contract with Newcastle until 2015. Liverpool and Manchester United were credited with an interest in the former Marseille man during the summer transfer window.
What do you think about Ben Arfa's remarks? Is it wrong for him to see Newcastle United as a stepping stone?
