Here is how The Gunners go into their match with West Brom this evening...
Nicklas Bendtner is to start for Arsenal this evening against West Bromwich Albion in the League Cup. The Dane, who spent an unhappy season on loan at Juventus last term, had numerous summer moves vetoed in the end as Arsenal could not find suitable cover in the striking department.
But now he has been back training with the club and Arsene Wenger believes he can become ‘unstoppable’.
"It's just down to attitude and fighting spirit. When he has that, Nicklas can be an unstoppable striker. He gets his chance. Our job is about that. Take your chance. Fans forgive you everything as long as you produce the performances on the football pitch. That's what people want. I think our fans have a positive attitude towards Bendtner and they will be behind him.’’
Other team news for the game now and Arsene Wenger will obviously use the game to blood youngsters and freshen up some of the teams other players. Jack Wilshere is to be rested while Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey Wojciech Szczesny and Olivier Giroud will also get the night off.
The likes of Alex Iwobi, Kristoffer Olsson, Chuba Akpom and Serge Gnabry will hope to get a chance in the game while fringe players such as Nacho Monreal and new goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano will hope to make an impression.
The game also gives Wenger a chance to play those trying to rediscover their full fitness - including the team’s captain and vice-captain respectively in the form of Thomas Vermaelen and Mikel Arteta.
So here is the Arsenal team for tonight's game with West Brom...
Starting XI: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Monreal, Hayden, Arteta, Eisfeld, Ryo, Bendtner, Gnabry.
