A round up of news relating to Chelsea this morning.
Chelsea are sweating over the fitness of midfielders Marco van Ginkel and Ramires after both picked up injuries in the League Cup win against Swindon.
Van Ginkel was replaced by Ramires after going down with a knee problem while the Brazilian came off with a slight knock at half-time.
“We've got an injury to Marco which, it's a little bit too early to be certain but it doesn't look good. He'll have a scan on Wednesday on an injury to his knee. It's too early to say (if it's a bad one) but let's hope that's not the case,” said assistant boss Steve Holland.
Chelsea are set to win the race for highly rated FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala.
Reports are suggesting that the Blues will go after the 22-year-old this January, preparing to negotiate over Mangala’s buy out clause.
Porto are thought to want the full £40 million with Chelsea reportedly only prepared to offer half of that sum.
The Belgian public believe that Romelu Lukaku was right to leave Chelsea over the summer.
Belgian newspaper HLN conducted a poll where 76% of the participants said they thought Lukaku had made the right decision in joining Everton.
Lukaku will play for the Toffees on loan until the end of the season, as he looks to increase his first team experience.
