Napoli injury blow is a boost for Arsenal ahead of Champions League clash

Arsenal may be without Theo Walcott for next week's game, but opponents Napoli have a problem of their own.

Arsenal's meeting with Napoli at the Emirates is one which could be pivotal in their Champions League adventure - with a win able to put them in control of the group.

So the news Theo Walcott will miss three week's of action with an abdominal injury is certainly a blow, but one softened by the fact Napoli have suffered one of their own.

Napoli midfielder Christian Maggio will be out for four weeks after undergoing a minor knee operation on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old featured in Napoli's win over Borussia Dortmund, playing all 90 minutes, and had started two of the club's Serie A games this season.

The Italian international has 32 caps for his country, recently featuring in the win over Tomas Rosicky's Czech Republic.

Maggio played 31 times in Serie A last season, scoring four goals and providing six assists from the right of midfield.

His agent Maximo Briaschi told Italian radio: "It appeared to be a small thing, but since the pain was continuous, the medical staff of Naples decided to do the surgery.

"I'm sorry he will miss the match against Arsenal because these are games that everyone wants to play."
