Denver Broncos are chasing NFL history after week 3

The Denver Broncos were tipped as one of the favourites to take the AFC crown and appear in the Super Bowl next February.

You can’t argue with this prediction with the way the Broncos and specifically their quarterback, Peyton Manning have started the season.

After just three games they are on a record setting pace and if they can keep this up then they will be in with a shout of matching the New England Patriots 16-0 record in 2007.

Manning himself has 12 TD passes and no interceptions through the first three games, it puts on pace to have 64 in the season which would smash Tom Brady’s mark of 50.

The Broncos offense looks balanced and very dangerous and it seems that only injuries could prevent them from putting together a season for the ages. Scoring 127 points in three games is an incredible feat, the second highest ever after 3 weeks.

One thing that will annoy the Patriots and Brady is how well Manning and receiver Wes Welker have teamed up so far, Welker was a Patriot for the last 6 seasons before signing with Denver back in March.

Denver will have the chance to continue their good offensive play in the next three games of the season they play Philadelphia, Dallas and Jacksonville, all three have their struggles defensively.

Manning will be pleased to see he is facing the 30th ranked defense, the 22nd ranked pass defense and the Jaguars who are last in points scored. If they are not 6-0 after these contests then you have to say something has gone very wrong.

There is still so much football to be played before we start talking about the record books but it has to be said that Denver look like a run away train at the moment and it will take a very strong team to stop them.
