A round up of this morning’s news linked to Chelsea.

Chelsea are set to name a strong starting eleven for the League Cup match against Swindon Town this evening.

Several players will be rested but Jose Mourinho could name a side that includes the likes of Juan Mata and Michael Essien.

Ryan Bertrand and Cesar Azpilicueta are among the other players expected to feature.

Jose Mourinho has claimed Samuel Eto’o is not the player he used to be.

Eto’o was drafted in by the Blues to fill a void in attack but he’s failed to have the impact Mourinho would have been hoping for.

“Anzhi? We all know that was for economic reasons - He is no longer the player he was at FC Barcelona or Inter Milan. I knew he would not have his level, but for me he is a great player,” Mourinho told Le10 Sport.

Juan Mata will change his game to try and force his way into the Chelsea side.

The Spaniard hasn’t featured prominently under Jose Mourinho this season, with claims from the Portuguese coach that the player needed to adapt to the current Chelsea side.

“He is going to knuckle down and try harder. If he is given a chance, he will take it. He accepts Mourinho has a point, especially when his stats are compared to the likes of Oscar and Eden Hazard,” said a source close to the player.
