Sakho retunrs to Paris to make emotional speech to PSG fans

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure thinks the return of Luis Suarez to the side will be a huge boost after the their 1-0 home defeat to Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Suarez returns from a 10 game ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic in April against Manchester United in the League Cup on Wednesday evening, and Toure believes it is just the boost the side needs.

“He is a fantastic player – a top striker who can score a goal at any time. He will strengthen the team.

“He has been very difficult to defend against in training. He is a winner. He’s always working hard and fighting. You want those kind of players.”

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet insists the team can put things right on Wednesday against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

He told the club’s website: “We’ve got another game on Wednesday when we can put things right straight away; I think it’s a perfect scenario to get back to it. We have a decent game to look forward to and everybody can put things right.

“Sometimes you have a disappointing result, but then you have to make sure the result and performance afterwards is back on top.”

New Liverpool signing Mamadou Sakho returned to Paris for last night’s game between PSG and Monaco as he said an emotional farewell to the fans of his old club, but the Daily Mail reported that he hinted that he may one day return.

“I’m very proud to be here tonight. I remember when I was young, I was up there, there in the stands and watched PSG play. My story with PSG isn’t over yet.”
