Manchester City won 4-1 against their bitter rivals this afternoon.
Manchester City have thrashed Manchester United at The Etihad in the first Manchester Derby managed by Manuel Pellegrini and David Moyes. It was Pellegrini who came out on top as his City side ran riot over United - and came away with a 4-1 victory.
City overpowered United in the first half and it was Sergio Aguero who scored the goal, volleying in a left side cross from full-back Aleksander Kolarov - who was at his swashbuckling best.
They then made it two with Yaya Toure tapping in at the back post after poor marking at a Manchester City corner.
Moyes would have sent United into the second half with a game-plan, which quickly got torn apart by City who flew out the blocks.
Aguero scored his second to make it three in the 47th minute before Samir Nasri buried a volley at the back post after stunning work from Jesus Navas down the right hand side.
A late free kick from Wayne Rooney acted as a consolation - but United were thoroughly outplayed and Moyes has many questions to answer ahead of the Carling Cup tie with Liverpool.
