Newcastle United renaissance ended by Hull City wonder-strike

Hull City came from behind to beat Newcastle 3-2 at St James' Park earlier today.

Two goals from Loic Remy proved to be nothing more than consolation as Newcastle United lost the lead twice against Hull City.

The Frenchman opened the scoring after just 10 minutes, heading in after a miscued shot from strike-partner Papiss Cisse. But Robbie Brady levelled for Steve Bruce's side 16 minutes later.

Remy was fortunate again just before half-time, when a Yohan Cabaye effort fell into his path and he slotted home.  But again the lead was short-lived, with Ahmed Elmohamady pulling the Tigers level four minutes later, heading in a Brady free-kick.

The winner came on 76 minutes, when Sone Aluko - of which great things are hoped - scored an outstanding volley to take the points and the plaudits...and ensure Bruce left a happy man.
