Tottenham Hotspur morning news: AVB plays down injuries, Spurs still linked with Chelsea star

A quick round up of the key news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Andre Villas-Boas has played down injuries to Danny Rose, Younes Kaboul and Moussa Dembele.

The trio all picked up knocks during the Europa League match against Tromso but the boss says the problems aren’t as bad as feared.

“Dembele should be OK - Younes felt muscle tightness in his adductor and we decided to take him off - We have to be a little bit more careful with Danny Rose. We hope it's not serious,” said the boss.

Spurs will reportedly make a strong push to sign Juan Mata from Chelsea this winter.

Mata is not a regular starter under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge which has created speculation that he could be available for the right place.

Tottenham were linked with the play maker over the summer and despite midfield overcrowding at White Hart Lane, he would remain a fantastic capture for the current side.

Vlad Chiriches is finally ready to make his debut for Spurs after receiving a work permit.

The Romanian defender was one of several summer signings at the club and Andre Villas-Boas says he hopes everything will be concluded quickly.

Chiriches could feature from the start or as a sub at Cardiff this weekend after the injuries to Danny Rose and Younes Kaboul.
