Dr. Peter Fuda is a consultant and speaker on leadership and business transformation, and his new book, 'Leadership Transformed', offers a groundbreaking approach to dramatically improving your performance as a leader.
1. How long have you been in the industry, and what is your current job title ?
15 years. Founder and Principal of The Alignment Partnership (TAP), and Adjunct Professor at the Macquarie Graduate Scholl of Management (MGSM)
2. Did you have a mentor and, if so, who ?
I’m fortunate to have, and have had many great mentors in my career. As I have tried to master the art of professional public speaking over the past couple of years, my friends Peter Sheahan and Brene Brown have been great guides.
3. Are you by nature an optimist or a pessimist ?
My obsession is with transformation, and I’ve learned that this happens at the intersection of dreaming and truth. So I would call myself an ‘optimistic pragmatist’.
4. Which business leader do you most admire and why ?
I think we spend too much time worshipping ‘superheroes’, so I greatly respect anyone who can lead humbly, purposefully and authentically.
5. What's the biggest lesson you have learned in your career to date ?
Success is not a matter of intention. It’s a matter of alignment
6. What's your favourite business quotation or life motto?
'The purpose of life is a life of purpose'. Robert Byrne
7. What's the best business book you've ever read ?
Probably the one that has had the most impact on my work and thinking is Finding Our Way by Margaret ‘Meg’ Wheatley
ABOUT THE BOOK 'Leadership Transformed'
After conducting research on CEOs who drastically and measurably succeeded at transforming themselves and their organizations, Peter revealed several common themes and organized them into seven leadership metaphors: Fire, Snowball, Master Chef, Coach, Mask, Movie, and Russian Dolls. Through these metaphors, readers will learn how to: initiate and sustain transformation efforts; apply leadership 'science' to help make transformation happen; use a coaching staff to collectively help achieve aspirations; encourage authenticity to increase trust and commitment; increase self-awareness, reflection, and effectiveness; use accountability as a tool to build momentum; and much more.
