The inclusion of Bebe in by coach Costinha in Pacos de Ferreira's starting line-up could not prevent the Portuguese club losing 3-0 away to Fiorentina last night.
United fans wondering how the loanee got on, hold on one moment.
His horrific crossing exhibition against Wolves back in 2010, which spelt out in no uncertain terms that he was not ready for a club of Manchester United's stature.
Well we are sorry to break the news, but he has not really improved.
Bebe lined up on the left wing for Pacos, and found himself tasked with finding a teammate on eight separate occasions, but found his man just twice.
One of these two was merely a completion on a technicality however. It sailed over the box (sound familiar) and was picked up by a teammate on the other touchline.
Perhaps the fact he did put one telling ball in can be classed as steady progress, but it still appears crossing is not the player's forte.
His general passing statistics over the 90 minutes were not much better, a 72 per cent completion rate,.
Bebe did make three tackles and two clearances, showing he was prepared to work hard for his team's cause, in a match they were clearly outclassed in, with former Manchester United youngster Giuseppe Rossi bagging the third goal for the Italians.
For Bebe it's just progress to be playing in the competition, and it was only his second match for the club. Having seen his side travel to Benfica and Fiorentina and ship six goals in two matches, the fixtures won't get much tougher than that, and it may be that he shines going forward.
Coach Costinha is clearly a fan, playing him for the full 90 over both games, but perhaps he should find somebody else to do the crossing?
