Shola Ameobi has picked up an injury after returning from international duty.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has confirmed that the 31-year-old will miss tomorrow's Premier League encounter against Hull City.
The Nigerian international missed last weekend’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa with a knock - and faces up to three weeks on the sidelines.
Pardew also revealed that defender Steven Taylor and midfielder Jonas Gutierrez have been forced out of action with hamstring injuries.
"We’ve not had the greatest of weeks on the injury front. Steven looks like he’s hurt his hamstring, and has a little period out.
"Shola’s not available again, and could be out for one to three weeks. Jonas is still on the road, but will still train Monday."
Meanwhile, the Newcastle boss has praised his Hull City counterpart Steve Bruce for doing an "unbelievable" job at the KC Stadium.
Bruce, born in the North East and a boyhood Newcastle fan managed rivals Sunderland between 2009 to 2011 - and Pardew thinks Toon fans will be keen to remind of the past.
"What Steve done was unbelievable and nobody fancied them. They are ahead of schedule.
"I think our fans will remember that he managed Sunderland, and will be reminding him of that. He's done a fabulous job at Hull. It is a different scenario for him now, but I don't think those memories will leave him.
"He's a local boy and he knows how important the football is up here."
What are your predictions for Newcastle's match against Hull? Can the Toon make it three wins on the bounce?
