London Evening Standard reports that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is delighted with Aaron Ramsey’s early season form, but he did say he has surprised him.
He said: ‘Aaron is playing well and that is most important, so is that he continues to improve.’
Ramsey has started the season in red-hot form while already finding the net six times so far in this campaign. Including the winning goal last night against Marseille and at the weekend away to Sunderland.
Wenger said: ‘Honestly, I didn't expect him to score so many goals, he's especially improved in his passing, his technical quality. He was always in good positions in the box, but scoring is a bit cyclic.’
Sportsmole reports that Theo Walcott stated his admiration for his sides win against Marseille last night. The England winger believes it is an important win considering the other result in the group.
He said: '"It's a massive victory for us, I felt we were quite under the cosh at times and they showed some great football and it's a hostile place to come, but I expressed beforehand that I thought we could win this game and it's a very crucial win because Dortmund lost as well.
The Daily Express reports that by beating Marseille last night Arsenal recorded their tenth straight away win, a club record.
The run started with the 2-0 win in the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich in March. This run allowed them to overhaul their rivals Tottenham for fourth place and qualification for the Champions League, in that run they have only lost one and drawn 2 games. They sit atop the form table over the last 16 Premier League games.
