Steven Taylor has been ruled out of Newcastle's next two matches.
The English defender picked up a knock in training earlier today, Alan Pardew has confirmed.
The nature of the injury is unknown, but it will sideline him for this weekend's Premier League clash against Hull City, along with the midweek Capital One Cup tie against Leeds United.
Taylor returned to the Newcastle fold with a place on the bench against Aston Villa last weekend, after serving a three-match ban for his red card on the opening day against Manchester City.
The 27-year-old has a history of long-term injuries. In the 2011/12 season when Newcastle finished 5th, Taylor made just 14 appearances, suffering a hamstring injury before rupturing his achilles tendon.
Last season, he was in and out of the team due to a series of knocks. In the end he made 25 appearances in all competitions.
How much a miss would Steven Taylor be for Newcastle in the next few games?
