This weekend sees plenty of Premier League fixtures lined up with several different aims and ambitions for the teams involved.
Liverpool will be looking to get back on track after dropping points against Swansea, Chelsea will be hoping to bounce back from defeat at Everton and Aston villa will be trying to start a winning mentality. There’s also the small matter of the Manchester derby.
Here are five tips for you to consider putting your money on.
Aston Villa to beat Norwich City
Villa have not had the start to the season that Paul Lambert would have been hoping for as he tries to guide his team away from another relegation battle.
Villa to win away at Norwich is a decent bet at 85/40 with BetVictor because Villa have the perfect players to exploit any side on the counter attack. They’ll also be under arguably less pressure because they won’t be playing in front of their home support.
Daniel Sturridge to score first for Liverpool against Southampton
Sturridge is in the best form of his career and he’ll be looking to maintain a strike rate of one goal per game against the Saints.
He is 4/1 with Bet365 and BetVictor to bag the first goal of the game, which is worth a bet considering how prolific he has been this season and how dangerous he looks throughout matches.
West Brom to beat Sunderland
The Baggies have been another side struggling at the start of this campaign but they look a good bet to beat Sunderland at just the right side of evens at 11/10 with Coral.
Sunderland will be looking to react after they were comprehensively beaten by Arsenal last weekend but they may find this fixture too difficult because Steve Clarke will get his side to go back to basics, playing simple football which may prove tough to contain.
Tottenham Hotspur to win by one goal at Cardiff City
Spurs have one of the best squads of players in the league which makes them favourites as they travel to Cardiff City.
Spurs to beat the Bluebirds by a single goal is a rather attractive price of 14/5 with Ladbrokes. If you think they could marginally increase that winning margin to two goals then BetVictor gives you 5/1.
Robin van Persie to score at any time against Manchester City
We couldn’t let the Manchester derby slip under the radar and it’s Manchester United’s Dutch striker who will be drawing a lot of the attention.
Van Persie is 8/5 with Bwin to score at any point during the match. He’s looked sharp so far this season and should be able to raise himself for this match. He only needs a decent half chance to get on the score sheet.
