A round up of the latest news and gossip connected to Aston Villa.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert is demanding a reaction from his team against Norwich City this weekend. Villa have suffered a poor start to the season following a 3-1 win away to Arsenal on the opening day and Lambert is calling for a reaction following a home defeat to Newcastle.

Aston Villa star Andreas Weimann is targeting a win at Norwich city this weekend. The Austrian says he wants to maintain the positive memories he has of playing at Carrow Road. Weimann bagged a brace in the League Cup tie at Norwich last season.

Weimann has also backed teammate Jores Okore to make a recovery from injury and to hit top form. Okore picked up a bad knee injury last weekend which has ended his season but Weimann says he will bounce back.

“Jores has come in and played really well. It’s tough for him to be out for that length of time – I know he will bounce back and return stronger than before,” said the Austrian.

Aston Villa are reportedly one of the clubs interested in signing Burnley striker Danny Ings. The 21-year-old has been one of the stand out players for the Championship club this season and reports suggest Burnley want around £7 million for his transfer.

Another player that the club has been linked with is Bulgarian midfielder Ivelin Popov. Reports are claiming that the club will have another go at signing the player during the winter transfer window.

Lambert has admitted the club may look at loaning out Marc Albrighton. The boss has said a loan deal could help him revitalise his career.

“If something comes up and I think it’s right I’ll look at it. If I don’t he’ll stay here. He possibly needs a good run, he needs to stay injury free,” Lambert told the Birmingham Mail.

Lambert has also spoken out over another player, this time piling the praise onto current goalkeeper Brad Guzan, the undoubted number one at Villa Park.

“He's been brilliant, but leaving out Shay is one of the biggest decisions I've had to make as he's a brilliant goalkeeper and a really good guy,” Lambert told sky Sports News.

Meanwhile, star striker Christian Benteke says he’s hoping to learn from the club’s new signing Libor Kozak. Benteke remains the primary forward at Villa Park but says he thinks he can learn a lot from his strike partner through training and first team appearances.
