Here's the latest on Arsenal, featuring Olivier Giroud and Per Mertesacker

The Daily Express reports that despite having a red hot start to the season, Olivier Giroud is worried by the lack of depth in the Arsenal squad.

The French striker has scored four in his first four Premier League games this season but has concerns with the lack of numbers in the squad. The Gunners travel to the South of France with a number of youth players filling in the squad due to injuries.

He said: ‘We have a quality squad, but I’m a bit scared about the numbers we have, we will face problems but we’ll do everything we can to rival the big clubs.

The Evening Standard reports that Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has called his team ‘exceptional’ after a run of nine straight away wins, they can make it 10 in a row tonight in the Stade Velodrome.

This Arsenal side put together an unbeaten run in their last 10 games last season to overhaul rivals Tottenham for fourth place. But despite the loss to Aston Villa on the first day Mertesacker is very excited.

He said: 'We built up confidence from last season, especially the last 10 games when we didn't lose anything. You could feel it from the first day that there is something special in this team, apart from the first game [against Aston Villa], no one dropped and the performance went well after that.’

The Daily Mirror reports that Arsenal have been given a boost with both Olivier Giroud and Mesut Özil have been passed fit for the trip to Marseille despite concerns after their weekend win against Sunderland.

Giroud had been suffering from a knee injury and Özil was ill before the game on Saturday. It will be welcome relief for manager Arsene Wenger as he would have had to rely on youth players if the pair hadn’t made it.
