Jonjo Shelvey had a very difficult evening at the office last night, as he showed his more emotional side following the 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Swansea City.
He was clearly very determined to make a point against his former club, producing a superb finish for Swansea’s opener before two poor passes which led to both of Liverpool’s goals.
It wouldn’t have been a surprise of Swansea boss Michael Laudrup took him off at half-time but the decision to leave him on paid of as he produced the assist for Swansea’s equaliser.
Shelvey then apologised to Swansea fans after the final whistle in one of the most emotional post-match interviews you are likely to see this season.
It was a stark contrast from an incident last season when he was sent off playing for Liverpool against Manchester United, laying into sir Alex Ferguson as he left the field with a barrage of verbal abuse towards the former United boss.
Fingers crossed for Swans fans everywhere that he can get over the mistakes, move on and have a cracking season for them.
Take a look at that outburst towards Fergie and the interview last night below.
What did you make of his performance and comments?
