We would not blame you if you could not remember Mounir El Hamdaoui's career in English football, for it was over before it barely began.
He scored three goals for the Rams but injury cut short his spell, and Tottenham decided the very next summer to sell the forward back to Holland, with Willem II picking him up.
Since then his career has blossomed, leading AZ to the Eredivisie in 2008/09, winning the Golden Boot and the Dutch Player of the Year award.
El Hamdaoui is now officially a Fiorentina player but is out of favour at the club who brought in big name forward Mario Gomez this summer, being loaned out to Malaga for his first spell in Spanish football.
After a slow first couple of games, El Hamdaoui's Spanish spell ignited over the weekend, bagging a hat-trick in Malaga's 5-0 win over Rayo Vallecano, and providing an assist too for good measure.
