Injury Update: Welbeck likely to miss Bayer Leverkusen clash

Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck is unlikely to return to first team action for Manchester United’s Champions League tie against Bayer Leverkusen.

Welbeck missed the weekend win over Crystal Palace with fluid on his knee and he’s unlikely to feature tomorrow night after a Manchester United Twitter feed confirmed he missed training ahead of the Bayer Leverkusen clash.

The news means that Ashley Young is likely to continue down the left as he deals with a flurry of criticism following his yellow card for diving in that 2-0 win against Crystal Palace.

Nani is another option, who should be fired up following his decision to sign a new contract at Old Trafford while youngsters Wilfried Zaha and Adnan Januzaj both compete for more first team chances under Moyes.

In more positive news for the club, the same source also confirmed that Phil Jones continues to recover well from an ankle knock while Darren Fletcher has resumed light training following his battle against a bowel condition.

Who do you think will start down the left tomorrow night?
