A select round-up of news relating to Tottenham, including Bassong’s return, AVB’s spending and possible January departures.
As Tottenham prepare to host Norwich City this afternoon, former Spurs player Sebastien Bassong has been speaking about his time at White Hart Lane.
“They were great years at Spurs for me,” he told the Daily Mail. “I have had bad times, too, but I am happy because I wouldn’t have been the player I am today.
“Everything says Spurs are a better team than us, which is true, but we will work hard and see what comes.”
Tottenham could give a number of full debuts today, with new arrivals Christian Eriksen, Vlad Chiriches and Erik Lamela all available for selection. The latter got a glimpse of the Premier League during his cameo in the North London derby, but now it is time for the players to settle into a squad that is the envy of many.

Also taking a sly dig at the Gunners for paying “heavily” for Mesut Ozil, Villas-Boas revealed his summer business was to ensure another fifth-place finish is avoided come May; although Ozil and his Arsenal teammates may have something to say about that.
The radio station claims the Italian club are keen to spend in the winter, and with competition for places tougher than ever at White Hart Lane, Holtby and Sandro could be on the move.
Inter Milan are also reportedly interested in the Brazilian.
