Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Monaco looking at Lloris, Adebayor into exile

A round up of this morning’s news relating to Tottenham Hotspur.

AS Monaco are reportedly considering a swoop for Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The French number one is apparently a target for the wealthy club if they fail to land their main target Steve Mandanda from Marseille.

Lloris only arrived at White Hart Lane last summer but has established himself as a consistent number one for the club, which has drawn the interest of Monaco boss Claudio Ranieri.

Spurs striker Roberto Soldado has been backed by Spanish teammate Juan Mata.

Soldado has made a solid start to life in the Premier League but that hasn’t stopped some critics questioning whether he’s good enough to perform over a long period of time in England’s top flight.

“I think that he is doing really well. Last season, he scored a lot of goals, and this season, he has started very well. He's very good,” he told Sky Sports News.

Emmanuel Adebayor has reportedly been sent into exile by Tottenham Hotspur.

At one point this summer it looked as though the forward would be the primary striker at the club this season.

However, reports indicate Spurs will make him train with the youth teams when he returns to England following compassionate leave to grieve the loss of his brother.
