A round up of this morning’s news relating to Chelsea.
Chelsea captain John Terry says the club’s new signings will need time to settle in at Stamford Bridge.
Samuel Eto’o and Willian arrived during the summer transfer window and will both be key attacking components in any Chelsea success this season.
“You speak to them and they talk about how the intensity of their training is a lot different to how it is here, so for sure it will take them a few weeks to get their full fitness,” Terry told Chelsea TV.
Eto’o has admitted that his relationship with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, was extremely tense at one point.
Eto’o played under the Portuguese coach during his time at Inter Milan and he admits that their relationship was sketchy early on.
“Before meeting at Inter, we didn't know each other personally, so our relationship was tense. I even said one time that I’d never play for a club where Jose was coach,” said the striker.
Chelsea winger Christian Atsu may have to wait to make his debut for loan side Vitesse Arnhem.
Atsu signed from Porto over the summer but has failed to receive his temporary residence paperwork that would allow him to play in the Eredivisie.
The 21-year-old is restricted from playing for Vitesse until that paperwork has cleared, meaning he may have to wait another week to make his debut.
