Bendtner returns, Benzema possible target, Wenger contract on hold - Arsenal Morning round up:

Nicklas Bendtner Arsenal

Here's all the latest on Arsenal this morning.

The Metro reports that Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been put on a strict training regime by his club in order for him to get in shape for a potential comeback to the first team.

The Dane was on loan at Juventus last season, but failed to make an impact at the Italian champions after suffering a long-term injury. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made no secret of the fact that he was looking to get rid of Bendtner during the transfer window,  but unfortunately no move could be agreed despite interest from a number of teams.

Sport Witness reports that Arsenal could sign Karim Benzema in the same way they managed to capture Mesut Özil. The French striker is another player that has seemingly fallen out of favour with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

It was thought that after the arrival of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid a number of players would need to be sold in order to balance the books.

The Daily Express reports that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has put talk of a new contract on hold until the end of the season.

He said: ‘At the end (of the season) I will sit down and think how well have I done with the team. And that has to be sufficient to decide yes or no.’

Wenger's contract runs out in June 2014, and Arsenal will want to sort things out sooner rather than later - but the manager insists that the performance of the team comes before any negotiations.

Finally, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba revealed that he turned down advances from two English clubs to join the Italian club last year when he left Manchester United last summer.

ESPN reports that he said: 'Other clubs were tracking me but I only had Juve in my mind. At the time, I heard from Chelsea, Arsenal and Milan, but nobody is like Juve'.
