All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Arsenal face off against Sunderland this weekend, and Mesut Ozil is expected to make his debut. There are even suggestions he could start the game following his £42.5 million signing from Real Madrid this summer.

However Tomas Rosicky is out with a thigh injury along with Yaya Sanogo (back), with both players picking up their injuries on international duty.

Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey have all recovered from knocks and will play.

Thomas Vermaelen could make the bench while Mikel Arteta, Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby are all still injured.

Sunderland can start Steven Fletcher but John O’Shea is suspended. Andrea Dossena and Fabio Borini will hope to be in contention after their deadline day moves.

Ozil has again reiterated his belief that Arsenal are title contenders this season. The German international stated:

"Of course, definitely [we are title contenders]. I know the team and the talent we have here. Every player wants to be successful and Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the world.’’

Serge Gnabry scored a wonder-goal which capped a superb individual performance for the clubs under-21 side against their West Brom equivalents yesterday. Gnabry, one of the clubs most exciting young talents, hit home a delightful volley after watching the long ball of Isaac Hayden come over his head onto his right boot.

Gnabry will now hope to make an impact on the first team as soon as possible.

Arsenal are ready to do battle with Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of French youngster Sebastien Corchia this January.

The right back almost signed for Lyon earlier in the summer but a deal collapsed due to Sochaux’s asking price for the talented former French under-21 captain.

A deal to join Italian outfit Torino on loan collapsed at the last minute on deadline day, and Corchia admitted yesterday that he would be keen on leaving his current club when the transfer window reopens in the winter.

Nicklas Bendtner has been put on a strict fitness regime at the club. The Dane has returned from pre-season overweight and the club originally planned on selling him. However, now that he is staying with the club, he is expected to get himself into shape.
