News, views and rumours relating to Manchester United in the past 24 hours.
In team news, new Manchester United signing Marouane Fellaini could be set to make his debut for the Red Devils this weekend in their clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Meanwhile, captain Nemanja Vidic insisted he is now ‘injury free’ after struggles with fitness last term.
“It does not worry me because I’m feeling well, I’m training well," said the 32-year-old skipper.
"It helps when you go through pre-season, and that’s why I’m glad I’ve been through pre-season.”
"I had a good four, five weeks of training, and that helps,” added the Serbian.
However, United ‘will not rush’ Wayne Rooney back to face the Eagles this weekend as the England number 10 is still not fully recovered from his head injury suffered in training with England.
United goalkeeper David De Gea is ‘grateful’ for the support of his teammates during tough times at Old Trafford since his arrival in 2011.
"It's a top dressing room and a great one to join,” explained the Spaniard.
"Everyone in the squad helps you a lot and the settling-in process is made a lot easier by the fact that there is such a warm atmosphere here."
In transfer news, United remain linked with Derby youngster Will Hughes, according to the Daily Star, who also assert Liverpool could compete with United for the 18-year-old midfielder’s signature.
Meanwhile, Arsenal signing Mesut Ozil’s father has ‘threatened’ legal action over claims he stopped his son joining United this summer.
"For the player, Mesut Ozil, Manchester United's offer was better, but maybe not for the father. The father might not have earned as much on the transfer (as he did) during the transfer to Arsenal,” stated FIFA agentFrancois Gallardo.
In response, Mustafa Ozil, the Germany international’s father, stated:
“We do need to realise that there were many scary agents who have tried without any legitimacy, get in the business. But we consider parallel legal action against so-called consultants who have offered Mesut authorization. Who probably hoped for a quick commission. As some have called under dubious circumstances to clubs and said they were instructed. From me they were there, anyway."
In other news, United have announced a new partnership deal with sponsors Manda Fermentation Co, Japan.
