A round-up of overnight transfer stories...
Conor Henderson to Hull City
Steve Bruce could give former Arsenal trainee is on the verge of signing a deal at Hull City. Henderson is a Republic of Ireland under-21 midfielder whose career was set back by a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered in 2011.
Stephen Clemence, reserve team manager, told the Hull Daily Mail: "Conor Henderson is someone we've had in training for the last couple of weeks. He didn't quite make the grade at Arsenal, but he's always had a lot of potential. There's more to come from him. He scored a free-kick and played some lovely passes around the pitch so we've been impressed."
Hull are also looking at Matthew Fletcher, an Australian under-20 striker who has been at Sunderland up until this point. He is also on trial at the club and on the verge of being offered a contract.
Ciprian Marica to Getafe?
Arsenal and West Ham have been linked with Romanian international striker Ciprian Marica over the past week, with possibly suspect quotes claiming he could arrive at the Gunners next week. The latest twist in that story is that Spanish side Getafe have thrown their name in the ring to sign the forward. Spanish newspaper AS report that the Madrid based La Liga side are ready to approach the player about a possible deal and end the ex-Schalke forward's long search for a club. This could serve to accelerate any Premier League club to act on interest in the player, but with West Ham signing Mladen Petric this week the Hammers may have ruled themselves out of the race.
