Arsenal hero Lee Dixon has criticised the performance of Kyle Walker, saying he needs to up his game.
Former Arsenal full-back Lee Dixon is a man who knows a thing or two about defending, and in his punditry role for ITV last night he was quick to point out Kyle Walker's deficiencies.
He did not exactly launch into a Roy Keane style tirade, but he certainly was not shy about pointing out the right-back did not have the best of games for England against Ukraine.
"Kyle Walker looked out of sorts.
"He'll look at it and work out how to improve.
"Konoplyanka caused him a lot of problems. Why was he often out of position? He goes chasing (after him) when didn't need to.
"As a defender you must make sure everything is in front of you. Walker got a bit carried away."
Dixon did note that overall the result was a positive and Walker simply needed to take the lesson on board and learn for the future.
"England got a clean sheet, that's what it is about. But individually there are areas to work on."
Walker was booked in the 70th minute and completed just 65 per cent of his passes. However it was not all bad, making a team high four tackles and also three interceptions, more than any other England player.
What did you make of Walker's performances? Were Dixon's comments fair?
