Tottenham morning news, including Walker, Adebayor and strike target

Hippy crack, staying at Spurs, and January transfer target.

It seems there is only one place to start the Tottenham news this morning and that’s regarding the picture appearing in much of the press of Kyle Walker taking a legal high.

The right-back is photographed inhaling what appears to be ‘hippy crack’ through a balloon but Walker has since apologised saying: “I have now been made aware of the health risks associated with the practice and that my actions were of poor judgement. I hope this will in no way influence or encourage others into putting their own health at risk.”

Walker is currently on international duty with England who have travelled to Ukraine ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against Ukraine. Jermain Defoe and Andros Townsend are also with the squad, with Townsend thought to be considered for selection because of Danny Welbeck’s suspension from the game.

Emmanuel Adebayor has said that he didn’t consider leaving Tottenham during the transfer window despite repeatedly being linked with a move away from the club, and with Spurs adding Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela.

The Togo striker told AllAfrica.com: “I never thought of leaving Spurs. I am here, my family feels great here and I do not see myself in another city.

“Today I will not tell you that I’m stronger than Soldado, Defoe or Lamela. We now have four in the attack, I do not know who ranks first, second or third, but I know at the end I will be the first and it is the most important.”

In other news, it appears that Tottenham will try and sign Christian Benteke in the January transfer window according to reports, but will be rivalled by Manchester United and Arsenal in the race to try and secure the Aston Villa striker’s signature. The 22-year-old expressed his desire to join a ‘big’club’ towards the end of last season.
