Manchester United fans may have been upset with the behaviour of Paul Pogba and his agent, but there is no escaping the fact that in footballing terms losing the Frenchman was a big blow.
Pogba had impressed for United's youth teams before letting his contract run down and sign with Juventus in the summer of 2012, where he has been described as the club's most exciting youngster since Alessandro del Piero.
Now United could face another worry, with Juventus keen to repeat the success.
Adnan Januzaj is United's baby-faced winger, who at 18 attracted rave reviews from Sir Alex Ferguson prior to his departure and impressed on pre-season tour.
He too is causing the club a slight contract concern with his set to expire in 2015. It was claimed in August he was 'on the verge' of signing a new deal, but the club is still waiting.
Various reports in Italy are claiming Juventus are planning a move, keen on Januzaj's potential and wishing to repeat Pogba's success.
"The leaders Juventus, led by Beppe Marotta and his right hand-man Fabio Guild, may try to repeat the hit scored with Paul Pogba two summers ago."
One thing is certain, United won't sell, so Juventus may have to wait and hope Januzaj's contract runs down like the aforementioned Frenchman.
Should united be worried? You tell us...
