Ramires continued his decent start to the season with a fine performance for Brazil, as the South American side completely trampled all over a lacklustre Australian team.
It was encouraging to see Ramires getting involved with the attacking side of Brazil’s game as he’s primarily used as a holding midfielder with Chelsea, breaking up the play and picking off opposition attacks.
This goal and performance will do him the world of good and further convince Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho that he needs to be in the starting line-up despite the huge number of midfield options the Blues currently have.
Ramires is currently keeping John Obi Mikel and Michael Essien out of the Chelsea side and if he can maintain a solid defensive game and pop up with the occasional goal like this for the Blues, it’ll be a long time before either of those players force him out.
What do you make of the goal?
