Manuel Pellegrini will be a happy man after Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo netted in Spain’s 2-0 win against Finland.
City boasts the best selection of strikers in the Premier League and Alvaro Negredo has just done his chances of regularly starting in the City attack ahead of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic no harm at all.
Negredo hasn’t made the start to Premier League life he may have been expecting but he’s just put a little bit of pressure on Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
It’s not the best goal you are ever going to see by any means but the forward’s tap in does his chances of starting in future matches for Spain and Manchester City no harm at all.
It’s also proof that he can definitely make a difference with Vicente Del Bosque using the striker to replace Cesc Fabregas last night, looking to give Spain more of an attacking edge as they tried to increase their advantage over a very determined Finland side.
Negredo is yet to start a Premier League match for Manchester City, scoring both of his goals as a substitute but when Pellegrini reviews the international action, he’s definitely done enough to make the City boss take note.
Should Negredo be starting for both Spain and Manchester City?
