We all know the names Manchester United went for in the transfer window and missed out on, but here's a new one: Arda Turan.
A report in Turkey has suggested United approached Atletico Madrid for the attacker before the deadline but were unsuccessful.
Now could they head back for the Turkish international in January?
Turkish news outlet AMK claims that the Atletico Madrid man remains in their plans for January, with it reported the swoop 'has only been delayed by a few months.'
Turan is 26-years-old and can play on either the left or right wing, as he has done already for Atletico this season, enjoying more success from the left, where he has scored his one goal and provided two assists from his opening three games.
Chelsea were linked strongly with the player at the beginning of the transfer window, while he has also been loosely connected to Liverpool but is deemed to be out of their price range.
Now some worrying news ahead for United - Arda Turan has a €24 million release clause. Bearing in mind the problems the club experienced with Bilbao concerning Ander Herrera's release clause, this may not be as straightforward as they would hope.
The deal could just be all talk, and speculation this early after the transfer window is closed often tends to be far too premature to be accurate. But just in case it does transpire to be a go-er...
Is Turan a player United should be looking at?
