The best of the #UnlikelyFootballQuotes hashtag

The last time it trended was April, but this Twitter hashtag is back with aplomb and features Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

#UnlikelyFootballQuotes has been trending on Twitter for three days now and it's not the first time it's taken the social media arena by storm. It featured for a lengthy spell back in April and, in the past 24 hours alone, has featured thousands of posts ranging from the bonkers to the illiterate.

Here we post the highlights but, alas, not all of the best can be published for, well, legal reasons.

Or in Arsenal's dressing-room…

For some reason this reminds me of Moe Syzlak.

This has to happen.

If watching one major European final from the sidelines before changing into your blues in order to fit in with team photographs when his mates celebrated with the trophy didn't bring enough e-ridicule, Chelsea's John Terry did exactly the same thing precisely one year later. But hey, he has two European titles to show for it and we don't.

I… no comment.

'Moyes Time' doesn't quite have the same ring to it as 'Fergie Time' so maybe a solo minute at the end of 90 is something we'll see this season.

Ha, this is decent photo-shopping. It took a while for it all to sink in… or maybe that's because I was more appalled by the misspelling of Tottenham.

He'd merk all of them. One after the other.

Only Liverpool-related Tweet I could find that didn't mention: 'And Liverpool have finally won a Premier League title!'

Congratulations, you just won the internet.
