News, views and rumours relating to Manchester United in the past 24 hours.
In transfer news, Marouane Fellaini joined United from Everton on a £27.5 million transfer deal in the late hours of deadline day yesterday.
The 25-year-old Belgian midfielder was a top target of David Moyes due to the strong relationship built between the player and manager at Goodison Park.
David Moyes is ‘confident’ Fellaini can be a ‘huge star’ at Old Trafford.
"Marouane is not someone you want to be playing against," Moyes told MUTV.
"He has attributes other people don't have. And with those qualities he has, I am sure he will be a big player for Manchester United.”
United trio Bebe, Davide Petrucci and Marnick Vermijl head out on loan to Pascos de Ferreira, Royal Antwerp and NEC Nijmegen respectively, for the remainder of the season.
Additionally, young prospect Nick Powell completed a loan move to Wigan on a season-long deal.
United also confirmed the last minute signing of Saidy Janko from FC Zurich. The 17-year-old prospect will enter the ranks of the youth team to continue his development.
However, there have been claims that United will launch an investigation into the club’s transfer failures this summer with the English champions failing in their pursuit of Spanish trio Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara, and Ander Herrera.
United failed to sign Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao as the clubs could not agree the transfer despite United bid to meet the midfielder’s release clause.
Reports emerged late on Monday night that hoaxers or ‘imposters’ pretending to represent the United officials scuppered the move for the Athletic Bilbao star.
United also failed to sign Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid who they had trued their attention to following an unsuccessful pursuit of Leighton Baines.
`The ‘embarrassment’ continues as Galatasaray confirmed they had rejected a bid for Wesley Sneijder from United.
