Chelsea morning news: Dust settles as Moses and Lukaku head out on loan

A round up of this morning’s main news connected to Chelsea.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has completed a season long loan move to Everton.

The Belgian forward had been tipped to make a big impression under Jose Mourinho this season but the Portuguese coach has seen fit to send the youngster for another loan spell.

The 20-year-old forward made significant progress on loan with West Brom last season and the Blues will be hoping for a similar level of progression.

He became the second Chelsea player to leave the club on loan on deadline day, after Victor Moses completed a loan switch to Liverpool.

With no obvious way into the Chelsea first team, Moses agreed to become part of Brendan Rodgers’ side at Anfield as Liverpool have started the season perfectly with nine points from nine available.

Chelsea are thought to have commissioned the move in order for Moses to get game time which would not have been possible at Stamford Bridge.

One player who was not able to secure a loan move away from the club last night was another forward, Demba Ba.

Arsenal made an approach to take Demba Ba on loan but were not willing to meet the £3 million fee that Chelsea were demanding for the privilege.

Ba now faces a season of uncertainty at Stamford Bridge after failing to appear regularly under Jose Mourinho throughout the matches over the start of the season.
