Etienne Capoue came off in the game against Arsenal yesterday evening in the 70th minute for the recently returned (and now bald) Brazilian international Sandro.
He was locked in arms with Santi Cazorla for the ball when Cazorla took a tumble, and handled the ball in an attempt to win a free-kick.
The full body weight of Cazorla appeared to land on the lower shin of the French international - leaving endless possibilities to the type of damage that could have been done.
One thing for sure is that Capoue was in extreme agony.
He was carried off with gas and air, whilst also being covered in a heat blanket; such was the severity of the injury.
But while most of the news today has obviously revolved about some deadline closing, it may have escaped some Tottenham Hotspur fans that an announcement has been made over his fitness.
And it is good news.
Yes, those Spurs fans who feel sick at watching Gareth Bale kissing the badge at the Bernabeu earlier today, I have some good news.
It appears that Capoue did not suffer any significant ligament damage and that he also did not suffer any form of break.
The initial reports are that he will be out of action for four weeks.
In terms of games he will therefore miss you will be very lucky to see him in action against Norwich City, Tromso, Cardiff City or Aston Villa - with initial reports suggesting that the earliest we could see him back would be the game against Chelsea on the 28th.
However the game against Anzhi would be more likely, with the derby against West Ham a surer bet on the 5th October.
But considering the worrying scenes at The Emirates on Sunday, Spurs fans would have taken this scenario then.
