Ian Holloway's team are expected to secure the services of Nicklas Bendtner if the Gunners can complete their own deadline day transfers.
Crystal Palace are to go in for another Arsenal striker as manager Ian Holloway looks to bring out of favour Danish international, Nicklas Bendtner across London following the clubs purchase of Marouane Chamakh earlier in the summer.
Holloway is looking to improve his strike force after seeing his side pick up their first points of the season on Saturday with a 3-1 home victory over Sunderland.
Bendtner was spotted at Palace’s Beckenham training facility earlier today but it is believed that a move is on hold until Arsenal can confirm signings of their own.
Holloway was bullish in his sides pursuit of the player telling journalists at a press conference: ‘“The deal is very close but a lot rests on what Arsenal are going to do.
“If they sign a replacement then it will definitely happen.’
Bendner has fallen out of favour with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger in the last few seasons, resulting in him being loaned out to first Sunderland where he netted eight times in 30 games, and then last season to Juventus, but he found chances hard to come by in Italy appearing just 10 times for the ‘Old Lady of Turin’ without scoring, he did however appear enough to win a Serie A league winners medal as Juventus landed their 29th Championship.
