Ozil - The man Arsenal have been looking for to replace Cesc Fabregas

Arsenal have been linked with many players this transfer window but as of yet they haven’t signed any of them.

Now on transfer deadline day they are reported to be close to signing Mesut Ozil; it’s clear that these are the type of players Arsenal need to be buying in order to challenge for major honours.

But will these signings make then potential Premier League Champions? Maybe even Champions League winners?

It will be tough to predict either of those with so many good teams to compete with but they will give the Gunners the best chance they’ve had since 2008 to get their hands back on the trophy that they last lifted in the 2003/04 season.

Signing Ozil would mean ripping up the current wage structure with, Ozil demanding wages of up to £180,000 a week, it’s a decision that has to be made at this point in the transfer window otherwise they risk being left behind by the teams ahead of them.

Ozil might not solve every problem at the club but he would provide a player that could finally replace Cesc Fabregas’ position, two years after he left for Barcelona.

The German has been Real Madrid's assists leader for the past three season and I'm sure Olivier Giroud would be happy being fed chances from Ozil.

It would not only propel them to another level but it will also give the fans something to be excited about, they will already be on a high after beating their fierce rivals Tottenham yesterday this would just be the icing on the cake.

The team seems to have a fantastic unity and we saw yesterday that the defence stood up to anything that Spurs threw at them.

Add to this a world class player like Ozil then you have a recipe for success and suddenly a team that could go toe-toe with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea for the title.
