Brendan Rodgers continues a well executed summer market policy.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers added to his already impressive array of Anfield imports earlier today by sealing the £14.5m capture of Paris Saint Germain and France defender Mamadou Sakho, a long-term target of fourth-place rivals Arsenal.
Versatile 23-year-old Sakho can play at centre back or left back and can seemlessly fit into Rodgers' brand of football of playing the ball on the floor from the back.
Sakho enjoyed a 92% passing accuracy last term but is also strong in the air, with a 76% success rate of winning headers. This, on top of his pitch IQ, concentration and interception skills have long made Sakho one of the most scouted Ligue 1 players.
'I'm delighted to be here,' said Sakho to the official Liverpool website. 'I came here because the project that is in place at Liverpool interests me. I'm really looking forward to playing my first game and I can't wait to get on the pitch.
'I know the Liverpool fans are fantastic and while I was in France, it was clear for me to see they are amongst the best in England.'
Liverpool also completed the signing of Tiaho Ilori from Sporting Lisbon.
