West Ham United fans shouldn’t get too excited over the possibility of a ‘big’ signing happening today.
Hammers everywhere would have woken up to the exciting rumours over a possible deadline day move for Juventus forward Fabio Quagliarella, a signing that would have not only improved the squad but one that would have made a real statement of intent ahead of the rest of the season.
However, the son of West Ham owner David Sullivan, Jack, took to his Twitter account to reveal that there is only a 30% chance of a big surprise happening (most likely the signing of Quagliarella) today which means if you’re a Hammer, you probably shouldn’t get too carried away.
With Andy Carroll out injured with a foot injury, the club are currently searching for a player who can fill that void in attack and score the goals as West Ham strive to consolidate near the top half of the Premier League table.
Ricardo Vaz Te is also being strongly linked with a move away from Upton Park today, so it’s no surprise that there are rumours suggesting Sam Allardyce will look for some sort of reinforcement.
If it does turn out to be the man who has won 25 caps for Italy then Allardyce, and the club’s officials, deserve medals because there are a number of top European sides linked with the striker at present.
What do you think? Can West Ham pull it off?
