For much of the summer, along with Gareth Bale’s transfer to Real Madrid, Luis Suarez potentially leaving Liverpool has dominated the back pages.
From feeling unhappy with media treatment, to yearning for the opportunity to play in the Champions League, to accusing Liverpool of not honouring a clause in the Uruguayan’s contract, there have been more twists attached to Suarez’s future over the summer than you would get out of a corkscrew.
Liverpool have stood firm throughout the window, from the playing staff, the manager and the principal owner the message was clear - Suarez was going nowhere.
Suarez will not be leaving Liverpool this window, and the club will keep hold of a top class player, a massive boost for the Liverpool’s ambitions.
By 11pm, I'm sure that a lot of Liverpool fans will be breathing a huge sigh of relief. Though Liverpool's squad have overcome every challenge that's been put before them thus far this season, it’s without question that Liverpool are stronger with their top scorer from last season in their ranks.
We could have done without all the drama, but hopefully Liverpool can think of Suarez in a more positive light now.
