Breaking developments

Bilbao newspaper El Correo has claimed that Ander Herrera has an agreement in principal to go to Manchester United. The same source also claims the player has agreed personal terms, with the final obstacle United’s willingness to pay the buy out clause in his contract at Athletic Bilbao.

West Ham United could also do some business today with reports from Italy suggesting they will loan Juventus forward Fabio Quagliarella. The sale of Ricardo Vaz Te is thought to be the deal which will finance the move.

Everton are working on a deal with Wigan Athletic for midfielder James McCarthy. The Toffees had a £10 million offer rejected by the Championship side and will have to up their bid to £14 million to push the deal through.

Liverpool are expected be very busy this morning completing deals for defenders Tiago Ilori of Sporting Lisbon and Mamadou Sakho of Paris Saint-Germain as Brendan Rodgers increases his defensive options.

In the pipeline

Manchester United are expected to step up their interest in Marouane Fellaini at some point today. United have tried to sign the Belgian twice already in a duel deal with Leighton Baines but could go exclusively after the Belgian.

If United fail to get Everton to budge, they could re-visit the possibility of signing Wesley Sneijder from Galatasaray. The Turkish side received, and turned down, an offer from United for the Dutchman two weeks ago.

Arsenal will continue talks with Real Madrid this morning over midfielder Mesut Ozil. Ozil could now be moved on following the arrival of Gareth Bale. The deal for the German could be worth just over the £40 million mark.

Another player Arsenal have been linked with is Chelsea striker Demba Ba. Reports suggest the Gunners are looking at the possibility of a loan deal for the Chelsea man as Arsene Wenger seeks to bolster his attacking options.

Juan Mata is another Chelsea star the Gunners could go after. Some reports have suggested that the Spaniard could hand in an official transfer request at Chelsea as part of a move to put pressure on Jose Mourinho to let him leave the club.

Tottenham Hotspur could finally be rid of their Emmanuel Adebayor problem with this morning. The Mirror has reported that QPR boss Harry Redknapp is trying to sign his former player on loan.

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has said he’s not sure whether Peter Odemwingie will leave the club today. Swansea City are interested in signing the forward.

Done deal

IMMINENT – Liverpool are expected to close the formalities of a season long loan deal for Chelsea forward Victor Moses this morning.

DONE DEAL – Stoke City have signed winger and forward Marko Arnautovic from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for a fee of £2 million.

Gareth Bale completed that world record transfer to Real Madrid last night signing a six-year deal in a package worth £85 million.

Manchester City have also confirmed the arrival of Argentinian defender Martin Demichelis from Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea have completed the signing of FC Porto winger Christian Atsu. Atsu signs on a five-year contract and has been loaned to Vitesse Arnhem for the rest of the current season.
