Breaking developments

DONE DEAL – Stoke City have signed winger and forward Marko Arnautovic from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for a fee of £2 million.

Liverpool are expected to complete the signing of Chelsea forward Victor Moses early this morning. The winger and forward will move to Anfield on a season long loan deal worth around £1 million.

Liverpool are also expected to complete deals for defenders Tiago Ilori and Mamadou Sakho today. Both defenders were at Anfield to watch Liverpool beat Manchester United 1-0 yesterday.

In the pipeline

Of the bigger clubs, Manchester United are expected to step up their pursuit of Everton’s Marouane Fellaini today, possibly dropping interest in Leighton Baines to get the deal done.

Arsenal are being linked with Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil across many different sources. Arsene Wenger has been under pressure for much of the transfer window to make a big name signing before the deadline. Arsenal have already made an offer according to the Metro.

One surprising signing the Gunners could make today is the arrival of goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano. Serie B side Palermo are reportedly looking to offload one of their three first team goalkeepers.

Juan Mata also remains on Arsenal’s hit list according to latest reports although they suggest the Chelsea midfielder will have to submit a transfer request to force a move away from the Bridge before the deadline.

Wigan Athletic have rejected an approach from Everton to sign James McCarthy and have described Crystal Palace’s offer for Callum McManaman as insulting. Everton have been told they will need to pay £14 million for McCarthy.

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has said it’s 50/50 whether Peter Odemwingie will leave the club today. The striker hit the headlines in the last transfer window when he drove down to Queens Park Rangers to try and force through a move. Swansea City are interested.

Done deal

Gareth Bale completed that world record transfer to Real Madrid last night signing a six-year deal in a package worth £85 million.

Manchester City have also confirmed the arrival of Argentinian defender Martin Demichelis from Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea have completed the signing of FC Porto winger Christian Atsu. Atsu signs on a five-year contract and has been loaned to Vitesse Arnhem for the rest of the current season.
